Hi

I am Anne Harry, British fine artist and poet. I live in the beautiful Georgian city of Bath in England.

Even as a very young child, I noticed the grand designs of nature, and uncultivated, wild vegetation tugged at my heartstrings. Shapes in particular captivated me. I had two visual fields. One physical and the other imaginary and the latter became the default mode particularly with regard to clouds. I saw familiar shapes such as faces of people, animals and objects in what I was looking at. Drawing what I saw came naturally to me then, but alas, the talent became neglected as the thistles and thorns of life came to inhabit the landscape of my mind.

That was until 2003 when my creative energy finally won the battle and I set out to learn garden design. However, a year later, I switched to Fine Art and since then have never looked back. In art I have found my true calling and feel I have finally arrived.

The mixed-media pressed botanical collage art displayed on this site is only the initial phase of my career as a fine artist. Innovative mixed-media paintings, as well as 3D work are in progress and will be displayed in due course. I am also keen on printmaking and have plans to incorporate it into my art in the future. Elements of physics, bio-chemistry, geology, philosophy, psychology, music and nature, too, will all be reflected in my future works.

My work encompasses the manifold elements of art involving line, shape, form, space, colour, light, perspective, movement, texture, and emotion, and features the abstract as well the representational.

Apart from visual art, I am keen on the written word and hope to base some of my art on literary works as well as my own poems.

Art to me is like an intimate friend. I feel the two of us are entangled, and I feel one with it. My intention is to share with the world the product of this union.
